And a day when I shall die My lyrics, my poems, my songs Will also die with me. A dead never utters - I shall die. Queen of the earth ! Your frozen lips shall touch my limbs Slowly and very slowly My spirit shall vanish Like a piece of Camphoor And I shall die. In the murmur of leaves In the striding steps of winds In the tender shower and breeze My breath shall linger and wait But I shall die in solitude- I shall die.

और एक दिन जब मैं मर जाऊँगा मेरे गीत, मेरी कविताएँ, मेरे गान मेरे साथ मर जाएँगे मृतक कभी नहीं बोलता - मैं मर जाऊँगा। धरा की रानी ! तुम्हारे हिम-अधर करेंगे स्पर्श मेरे अंगों का धीरे और बहुत धीरे मेरी चेतना लुप्त होगी कपूर के टुकड़े सी - और मैं मर जाऊँगा। पत्तियों की मर्मर में पवनों के तेज कदमों में मृदु वर्षा बूदों और झँकोरों में रह जाएँगी मेरी साँसे प्रतीक्षित -  लेकिन मैं मर जाऊँगा एकांत में मैं मर जाऊँगा।
